Hey. I’m Champ. Like my sister, I was adopted by my parents from the Orange County Animal Shelter in Chapel Hill, NC.  I got my name because as a kitten I loved to climb all around, dominating my terrain.  My legs bow out in front, so when I walk I tend to look like a cowboy too.

I’m an orange tabby cat and am pretty lovable and affectionate though sometimes I can be a little needy. I don’t really meow, but I do squeak instead.  Sometimes I have a flashback from when I was tiny, before the animal shelter found me – and I get really scared and squeak until my parents or somebody comes to get me. Once they scoop me up I’m ok though – I really just love to be held, and told that I’m loved a lot.  I can’t ever get enough of that!  Sometimes I love being held so much that I will let people do pretty much anything they want.  My dad likes to make me do air drums, and my mom holds my arms out like I’m flying.  I don’t like it, and they can tell, but I put up with it because they love me so much.

My favorite times are when mom is doing the laundry or making up the bed.  It’s fun to hide under the sheets and then jump out!  My least favorite is when my parents have new people over.  It’s scary to hear all those different voices I don’t recognize.  But usually after and hour or so I get enough courage to sneak downstairs and say hello.

My sister is mean but I love her anyway.  I help lick and clean her face all the time, even though she never returns the favor.  But no worries, I take it out on her when we fight.  As long as she doesn’t whip out “The Claw” I can usually dominate her.  I do it just to make her mad – it’s pretty funny actually to see her cornered and angry.  But its all in good fun – we’re actually best buds.  And even though we’re not biologically related, she’s my sister, and I love her.

I have a lot of nicknames:

  1. Champers
  2. Champerine
  3. Champich
  4. Champ Sandwich
  5. Champigne
  6. Champignon
  7. Champer Butt
  8. Squeaker Butt
  9. Buddy!
  10. Kit-ten!

I love web design – I helped dad make our first web page on the first day he brought us home from the shelter!  But I’m not into Facebook like Pip is.  I just don’t have time for all that socializing.

I love tormenting my sister!
